Ballymoney has a management committee. Several of the coaches are on the management committee. They also sit on a coaches committee, train with the swimmers anything between 30mins and 16 hours every single week from Searly Sept to Mid July.
Swim Ireland are actively encouraging coaching staff to step back from their committments on management committees and concentrate on coaches committee. This cannot happen in Ballymoney until more parents step forward to take up some of the workload. Don’t wait to be asked to help, step forward and offer your assistance.
Assuming we get to the point where there is a coaching committee we shall field any coaching related enquiries at those meetings. We shall also be able to get the award system up and running more efficiently for the swimmers.
Council meetings (where we have two coaches represent the club to talk to Swim Ulster Board) happen about once every two months, usually a Monday. Swim Ulster Board meetings are generally the third Monday in the Month. What we shall try and do is set a Monday for coaches meetings once we find that we are not tied up with the management committee. High Performance meetings are generally the 2nd Monday of the month and as yet the Gala Committee has not got an assigned Monday - TBC in due course, possibly tying in with the HPC.
