SWIM ULSTER RECRUITMENT DOCS>

To comply with the recruitment requirements;

1. Clubs must use a standard application form for all recruitment to paid and voluntary positions within the club.

2. All club members who have contact with children, young people and vulnerable adults must undergo an AccessNI check (many members will previously have been POCVA checked, but will have to be cleared with AccessNI before 31st March 2009. It can take several months for this clearance to be processed, so all clubs are advised to start this process now).

3. Clubs must be able to show that any appointments to posts within the club were made by decisions of the club committee, rather than being appointed by an individual.

To comply with the Code of Conduct requirements, clubs must employ a process that ensures all volunteers/coaches/young people/parents sign an appropriate Code of Conduct.

Swim Ireland are currently drafting a revised complaints procedure and we will provide information on this and other resources on our new website www.swimulster.net

ACCESS NI

TRANSFERS
For information.
When a swimmer wishes to transfer from one club to another s/he should receive a letter of acceptance from the new club and a letter of release from the old club. The purpose of the release is that a transferred swimmer must have cleared all debts to the old club.
All transfers are now handled by Swim Ireland.
When a swimmer transfers s/he may swim immediately for his/her new club but is
banned for 3 months from swimming relays for the new club. The 3 month rule occasionally causes problems when the date of transfer is disputed.
No swimmer may compete for more than one Irish club although many train with more than one.
