GALA INFORMATION - OPENS - 1
 OPENS DATES - 2007/8
ULSTER AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS - YOUTH CHAMPS and OPEN CHAMP (has Junior Section)
 The ultimate goal for our Ulster swimmers swimming calendar.  Qualifying times.  Age grouped.  Aimed at the faster swimmer.  Any swimmer wishing to try for this will need to put in extra work.  Ballymoney has a small  number of Age Group swimmers. A large commitment.  Held over two weekends and split over about 10 sessions in April and May of each year.   A mini marathon !

Local Competitions - some have qualifying times.  Swimmers may start entering these from when they reach Tuesday evening pool.
LARNE SPRINTS - 6th October in LARNE 2007.   All 4 strokes, 50 metres, heats and finals. No relays. Qualifying times.  Organised into age groups.  Cash prizes for record breakers.  Overall prizes for each age group. Entries due in by 28th September 2008.
WAR MEMORIAL - Evening Gala at the Grove Saturday nearest the 11th November.  (10th for 2007) Relays only.  ‘91/under 4 x 25 f/s, ‘89/under .  2005 / 6 season date is 12th November.
 4 x 25 Medley,
Ladies Open - 4 x 50 f/s, followed by the ceremony, the mens open - 6 x 50 f/s and the presentation.
GRADED GALAS / STROKE DEVELOPMENT MEETs / AGE GROUP MEETs / Potential Olympians - 50’s, 100’s, 200’s and 400’s - NEW.   From about 9 years old - for list see HERE
Swimmers graded to swim in races against swimmers of similar times.  Times attained will serve as qualifying times for Ulster Age Group entry times.  Any swimmers in the club would find a level for themselves.
Age group  competitions may also be swum as graded galas - the swimmers then going through to own age finals or being awarded medals as per age group.
 Criteria may apply as to which events you can enter - see qualifying times on the notice board for queries, or email me.

NOVICE GALA, BANGOR MINOR OPEN, ALLIANCE BRIDGESTONE OPEN, ARDS OPEN, GOLDEN COW - these are all galas that we shall  have entry forms to.  All swimmers are welcome to have a look at them and if they suit we can place entries.

NB.  All open gala are outside the normal fees levied by the club and therefore fees are due on entries to these galas.  Usually somewhere between £2.50 - £3.50 per event entered.  Parents will be asked to  help with the gala.  Please ask if you are unsure of jobs.
National Level - Ireland. There are loads of meets in England - details can be gotten on the web or through the swim magazines.
IRISH NATIONALS -  
 Qualifying  times.  Two divisions.  Held in July at the end of the season marking the highest point in the Irish calendar.  Will be held in Limerick this year.  Ballymoney has had swimmers go on to do well in this competition.  It is dedication and very hard work, but very rewarding.
ULSTER SC Championships - has 10/u and 11/12 relays afternoons (14th - 16th Dec 07)
SC = short course - 25m pool
 LC = Long Course - 50m pool
