– Instructions to swimmers
1 Girls start first as normal on time 00:00. ‘Take your marks’ followed by start signal.
2 After each heat the lane of the swimmer eliminated will be announced.
3 Boys first start as
normal on time 01:30 (90 seconds after girls).
‘Take your marks’ followed by start signal.
4 Each girls race and each boys race will start 3 mins after their previous race.
5 A whistle will sound 10 seconds prior to the start of the next and subsequent heats.
6 The start of the remaining heats will be signalled by hooter/strobe without further command.
7 The final race will
be between 2 swimmers.
